FORT HOOD, Texas -- The 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division is scheduled to host a public open house at Hood Army Airfield, Fort Hood, Texas, Thursday, Aug. 21 from 8:00 a.m. until noon. The event is free and open to the public.
During the event, members of the public will be able to see aircraft, vehicles, and weapons of the Air Cav on display, as well as speak with pilots and other Soldiers.
Parking space is limited for this event and preregistration is required. Space is limited to the first 250 vehicles to register for this event. After that limit is reached, the event will be closed to further registration.
Please review the following information before registering:
Vehicles must fit into a standard parking space.
No weapons, fireworks, pyrotechnics, pets, or alcohol are allowed.
Each vehicle driver MUST bring a physical copy of their access pass to the event. Access passes are generated after successfully registering for the event. Vehicles without a physical copy of their access pass will not be allowed on the airfield.
Vehicles not registered with Fort Hood must obtain a one-time entry pass from the Marvin Leath Visitor’s Center prior to accessing Fort Hood. This is a separate requirement from the access pass generated during registration. Note that one-time entry passes require driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance.
The Marvin Leath Visitor’s Center at the T.J. Mills gate to Fort Hood is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Only drivers need to register for a one-time entry pass.
Registration hours remain open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day prior to the event.
