FORT HOOD, Texas - The 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, will conduct a change of command ceremony Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. at Cooper Field here.
Col. Cory Mendenhall, outgoing brigade commander, will relinquish command to Col. Jeffery Thompson, incoming.
Mendenhall leaves the Air Cav to take his next assignment as chief of staff, U.S. Forces Japan, at Yokota Air Base, Japan.
Thompson joins the Air Cav after his most recent assignment as commander of Task Force Gambler in Sharana, Afghanistan.
