MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CENTER, TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. – The Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center is scheduled to host a Marine Expeditionary Brigade exercise focused on contingency operations testing the ability of the Marine Air Ground Task Force, Aug. 8-14.

Large Scale Exercise 14 focuses on refining and assessing the ability of a MEB command to conduct command and control of ground, air, and logistics combat elements’ capabilities to conduct combined-arms maneuver warfare.

Marines and sailors of the 1st MEB, composited from 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Logistics Group, and 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, and forces from the 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group will participate in this year’s LSE, which provides 1st MEB a synchronized, realistic and challenging exercise that accomplishes the training audience’s objectives. LSE-14 will integrate live, constructive and simulated training activities throughout this exercise to diversify the warfighters exposure to a range of military operations.

The LSE was conceived as an exercise to challenge commands across the spectrum of the MAGTF. The exercise will challenge all four elements of the MEB to work together to produce decisive results in execution. LSE-14 will also challenge multiple commands within TECOM, including MAGTFTC subordinate commands, to work together to produce decisive results in training.
