    3d Medical Command Deployment Support

    CAMP AS SAYLIYAH, Qatar – On July 22, 2014, the 312th Medical Logistics Company and the 393rd Medical Logistics Company held a transfer of authority ceremony at the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Center Southwest Asia (USAMMC-SWA).

    This event marks the end to a successful tenure by 312th Medical Logistics Company commander, 1st Lt. Amy Orr and 1st Sgt. Ricardo Alvarado.

    Over the past nine months, the unit worked alongside U.S. Air Force personnel and contractors to deliver medical supplies to warfighters in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. The 312th Medical Logistics Company completed 30 missions in three countries and processed over 3,000 shipments with a total weight of 800,000 pounds.

    "We also welcomed and shared our mission with 18 distinguished visitors, promoted nine soldiers, and celebrated the reenlistment of eight soldiers," said Orr.

    Orr credited her success to company 1st Sgt. Ricardo Alvarado, the 6th Medical Logistics Management Center commander, Lt. Col. Kenneth Walters, and the soldiers of the 312th Medical Logistics Company.

    Following her remarks, 3rd Medical Command (Deployment Support) Operational Command Post (Forward) deputy commanding officer, Col. Neva L. Rogers, addressed guests and warehouse personnel.

    "We are here today to thank the 312th Medical Logistics Company for their hard work to ensure that their mission of health service logistics support was met. At the same time, we welcome the 393rd Medical Logistics Company to the USCENTCOM area of responsibility and the 3rd Medical Command family," stated Rogers.

    Led by Capt. Keith Wallace and 1st Sgt. Amy Jolivette, the 393rd Medical Logistics Company is ready to assume the mission in Qatar. The unit has managed a smooth transition, training alongside their predecessors and counterparts for a month.

    USAMMC-SWA provides comprehensive health service logistics support to the joint health service support system in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The U.S. Army Medical Materiel Center Southwest Asia was established in January 2003. USAMMC-SWA is comprised of soldiers from the 6th Medical Logistics Management Center of Fort Detrick, Maryland, and the 393rd Medical Logistics Company from Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.
