LANSING, Mich. – Michigan National Guard Family Programs will host a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony for their new Service Member Veteran and Family Assistance Center at the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, 3423 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Building 31, Lansing, MI 48906, on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at 1 p.m.
The SVFAC is considered “one-stop shopping” for service members, veterans, retirees, and families. The intent of the center is to simplify the process of accessing services and support. The center will provide resource information, referrals to community support services, referrals to financial counseling, basic information on the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), identification cards services, retirement services, transition services, survivor outreach, child and youth programs, employment, and non-medical counseling.
Michigan National Guard leadership and distinguished leaders of the State of Michigan are slated to attend. Media and the public are welcome to attend this event.
