CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait -- This week's U.S. Army Central Soldier Spotlight is Spc. Earlandrius C. Parker, a 3rd Human Resources Command human resource specialist attached to USARCENT.

Parker, a Canton, Miss., native is an Army Reservist with three years of service in the U.S. Army Reserves. Parker is one month into a nine-month deployment to Kuwait.

This is Parker's first deployment. She plans to continue her education at the University of Mississippi when she returns back to the United States. Parker said she plans to earn a bachelor's degree in biology and eventually go to nursing school. She said a lot of her family members work in various medical fields, and she wants to be a nurse in order to help people.

Q: What is your favorite movie genre?
A: Comedy, because who doesn't like a funny movie? I like scary movies as well, but I end up hiding for most of the movie.

Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Chitterlings, because I'm southern and I grew up eating them. I actually learned how to clean them when I was 13 because I wanted to eat them, but my mom didn't want to clean them.

    Q: What are your goals?
A: To become a nurse, eventually purchase a home for my daughter and me, and just start planning a family.

Q: What are you most proud of?
A: My daughter, because she is the drive behind everything I do. She motivates me.

    Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I like shopping, writing poetry and entertaining my family and friends.

Q: If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why?
A: My great-grandfather, because he was in the military and he died a week before I graduated from high school. I am the only grandchild who followed his footsteps into the military and I think he would be proud of me.
