FORT KNOX, Ky. - The 15 soldiers who arrived here from units across the nation on Monday, March 17 continue to compete and show why they are known as the "best of the best" during the 80th Training Command (TASS) annual Best Warrior Competition here.

"I enjoy anything that is outdoors and physically active, so the Best Warrior Competition is right up my alley," said Staff Sgt. (Kathleen) Amy Justice, a competitor assigned to the 7/95th Regiment, 4th Brigade, 94th Training Division.

On Tuesday, competitors started the day early with a physical fitness test, then moved to a written exam and a panel appearance.

During this appearance, sergeants major quizzed the competitors on various topics ranging from military knowledge to current events.

"I love everything that we've done … except for the board, but that's done," Justice added jokingly. "The hardest part is done, and I'm looking forward to doing the obstacle course."

On Wednesday, competitors tackled several physical fitness challenges including a 6.2 miles road march, weapons handling, and rifle and pistol marksmanship.

Competitors also completed in a timed obstacle course with obstacles that included low crawling, a rope climb, and charging up and over a wall.

The BWC will continue throughout the week of March 17, and the official announcement of the 80th TC's best competitors in the enlisted and noncommissioned officer categories will occur at a recognition ceremony at the General George Patton Museum and Center of Leadership, Fort Knox, Ky., March 21.
