FORT HOOD, Texas – The 1st Cavalry Division will host a welcome home ceremony for Troopers of the 1st "Black Knights" Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd “Black Jack” Brigade Combat Team, on Cooper Field, Fort Hood, at 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 18.
Lt. Col. Jason Joose, battalion commander, and Sgt. Maj. Eric Cameron, acting battalion command sergeant major, will uncase the battalion colors signifying the official end of their tour.
The soldiers are returning after a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
