AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The U.S. Air Force Academy hosts the 21st annual National Character and Leadership Symposium Feb. 27-28.

This year’s symposium is themed: “Character Overcoming Conflict: Individual Stories, Global Impact.” NCLS participants will have the opportunity to hear from more than 20 speakers and several panel discussions focused on enhancing one’s own understanding of the importance and challenges of sound moral character and leadership. Participants include cadets, Academy faculty and students from colleges around the country.

“NCLS allows our cadets and faculty to explore challenging topics that are essential for their development as critical thinkers and professionals,” said Brig. Gen. Andrew Armacost, dean of faculty. “The insights and compelling stories often trigger important discussions that filter into the classrooms and dorm rooms across the Academy and beyond.”

This year’s speakers include Mike Farrell, actor, activist, and author, retired general Norton Schwartz, 19th Air Force chief of staff, Gen. Janet Wolfenbarger, Air Force Materiel Command commander and Dr. Heather Wilson, 1982 Academy graduate, former congresswoman and president of South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
