MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. - Logistic and embarkation specialists assist in ensuring Marines and their equipment are ready for exodus when they deploy in support of their country.

Marines who support the movement of mission-essential personnel, supplies and equipment use both military and civilian transportation resources.

Cpl. Luis D. Baez, with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 467, performs this responsibility daily by procuring and supplying logistics support data essential to Marine Air Ground Task Force planning and operations.

Baez, a Jacksonville, Fla., native, says he enjoys being able to work independently in his profession.

“Being able to lead and plan everything out myself is my favorite aspect of the job,” said Baez. “I’ve been given the opportunity to pretty much be on my own and show everyone that I can make things happen. I’m proud of that.”

Baez demonstrated his proficiency recently, providing support to more than 600 deploying service members.

Baez prides himself in this accomplishment, and helping Marines.

“I’ve been able to serve more than 600 people in my line of work and it’s an honor,” said Baez.

Off duty, Baez enjoys surfing, snowboarding and playing the ukulele. He enjoys being social and spending time with his fellow Marines.
