FORT GEORGE C. MEADE. Md. - U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. Tenth Fleet (FCC/C10F) announced the winners of the command’s 2013 Sailor of the Year board Nov. 29.

Cryptologic Technician (Maintenance) 1st Class (IDW/SG) Eric Santorelli was selected as FCC/C10F Senior Sailor of the Year. Also selected were Yeoman 2nd Class (SW) Anthony Dagle, as Sailor of the Year, and Information Systems Technician 3rd Class (IDW) Chantel King, as Junior Sailor of the Year.

“Congratulations to these sailors on their selection as our fiscal year 2013 Sailors of the Year,” said Vice Adm. Michael S. Rogers, commander FCC/C10F. “All the candidates demonstrated exceptional performance and created positive results for the command's mission.”

Santorelli attributes his success to his FCC/C10F teammates, personal initiative, and command involvement.

“Being selected as Senior Sailor of the Year really means a lot,” said Santorelli. “FCC/C10F has provided me a unique opportunity to succeed and have a more fulfilling Navy career.”

These awards are given out annually at FCC/C10F to its top sailors in there respective category.

“It's an honor in itself just to be nominated,” said King. “To be selected means that I am on the right track with my personal and career goals.”

According to Dagle, he is proud to represent FCC/C10F and credits his department’s leadership on his selection.

Master Chief Cryptologic Technician (Collection) (IDW/ SW) James D. Eaton, FCC/C10F senior enlisted leader said, “This milestone spotlights Sailors who are devoted and selfless.”

“To be selected, a sailor must have the maturity of a professional sailor who is dedicated to the Navy, demonstrates outstanding technical ability, strives daily toward mission success, and has an extremely strong family or friend support system backing him or her up,” Eaton went on to say.

Santorelli will now represent FCC/C10F at the Vice Chief of Naval Operations Shore Sailor of the Year competition in Washington, D.C.

“I believe Santorelli is the best face of FCC/C10F,” said Eaton. “His actions represent the admiral's vision, support the goals and priorities of the command, and are aligned with the culture of the command.”
