KABUL, Afghanistan - An International Security Assistance Force service member was killed Oct. 13 when an individual wearing an ANSF uniform shot the ISAF service member in eastern Afghanistan.

ISAF and Afghan National Security Forces have secured the scene. ISAF and ANSF forces are conducting an investigation, and more details will be released as appropriate.

It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.
