MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – The Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Falcons defeated the 7th Engineer Support Battalion Engineers 35-0, at Paige Field House aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., in an impressive fashion, Sept. 24.

The Falcons' offense and defense were firing on all cylinders as they backed the Engineers into a corner and would not let them leave. The Falcons first struck with 1:21 left in the first quarter with quarterback, Casey Rogers, connecting with wide receiver, Devin Garner, to start the assault.

The following kickoff was muffed by the Engineers and recovered by the special teams, allowing the Falcons to own the momentum.
The following series allowed Rogers to complete a 30-yard pass to wide receiver, Jeremy Rodriguez, but the extra point attempt was missed making the score 13-0.

The Falcons' defense contributed points to the game early in the second quarter, when defensive back, Steven Catlin intercepted the ball around midfield, dodging defenders, resulting in a Falcons touchdown. A two-point conversion was attempted to make up for a failed field goal attempt, but was unsuccessful resulting in a 19-0 Falcons lead.

“I’m very pleased with the team’s performance,” said Master Gunnery Sgt. Carlice Moffett, Falcon’s head coach. “The defense is hitting on all cylinders.”

The Falcons' field goal unit helped by tacking on a 22-yard field goal and with 6:25 left in the second quarter. Rogers was able to hook up with another wide receiver, Raul Rosas, making the score 28-0.

The Falcons would strike a final time in the third quarter with 40 seconds left inside the red zone when Rogers threw a bullet to wide receiver, Thomas Bothwell, making the final score 35-0.

The team’s performance was good and they still have a lot of work to do to prepare for the upcoming playoffs, added Moffett.

The Falcons' upcoming week will be a bye but, they will retake the field and face the 1st Radio Battalion on Oct. 7.
