WASHINGTON – Reports of an active shooter or other emergency situation at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) are unfounded.
JBAB emergency personnel responded to a report of shots fired in the Bellevue Housing area at JBAB and have confirmed them to be unfounded, according to the JBAB Commander, Navy Capt. Anthony T. Calandra.
Additional security measures remain in place at JBAB, including temporarily securing the installation with its entrance gates closed and personnel on the base sheltering in place. The measures will remain until the situation at the Navy Yard is secured.
