ALBANY, Ga. - As Operation Enduring Freedom nears its end, the Global War on Terror is still a reality for many Marines and their families. Marines, Sailors, family and friends of the warfighters extended their support and welcomed their heroes home, July 25.

Two Marines, Maj. Jose M. Tee and Master Gunnery Sgt. Brent L. Dorrough, with Marine Corps Logistics Command, returned home after extended deployments to Afghanistan.

While deployed, Dorrough and Tee served in command staff billets while supporting and assisting in providing integrated logistics and distribution management, maintenance management, and strategic prepositioning capability in support of the operating forces in the combat theater.

Dorrough served as the senior enlisted advisor for MCLC (Forward) and Tee served as the command’s executive officer. Both Marines were integral in overseeing personnel as well as daily operations in a combat environment.

“It’s always good to have Marines come home and be reunited with their families,” Maj. A. J. Vanston, commanding officer, Headquarters Company East, MCLC said.

Upon their return, MCLC Marines and civilian-Marines were eager to hug and shake the hands of their brothers-in-arms as they returned home from the ever-present dangers of OEF.

“It is very important to be present at these homecomings to welcome our Marines home,” Salina McBride, the family readiness officer, MCLC said.

“A combat tour is a stressful tour of duty for both the Marine and their families at home,” McBride said. “Welcoming them home is a joyous occasion.”
