JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - Lt. Col. Patrick R. Hittle relinquished command of Marine Wing Support Squadron 272 to Lt. Col. Alfredo DuBois during a change of command ceremony outside Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 26’s hangar, June 28.

Hittle led the “Untouchables” from October 2011 to June 2013.

After the exchange of the squadron colors, Col. Christopher C. Seymour, commanding officer of Marine Aircraft Group 26, commended Hittle on his two years of excellent leadership.

“It’s a real pleasure for me to be at this big day,” Seymour said. “You have been a real pleasure to work with. It is a privilege to command Marines, anywhere the Corps allows.

You led with distinction and humility, and I know you will continue to do great things for the Corps.”

Seymour then addressed the squadron’s newest commanding officer, DuBois.

“Al, you and your wife are taking over some big shoes,” Seymour said. “I know you and your wife will also lead the ‘Untouchables’ with grace and humility.”

After Seymour’s remarks, Hittle stood and gave his final speech to the Marines.

“Thank you all for coming today, it is truly an honor,” Hittle said. “To the Marines and Sailors of MWSS-272, I thank you for your support. You astound me with your capabilities. I wish you the best. God bless you and keep you.”

During the ceremony, Hittle was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for his exemplary leadership during his time as MWSS-272’s commanding officer. His wife, Amy, was also given a certificate of commendation.

After the ceremony, the MWSS-272’s newest commanding officer shared his goals for the squadron for the year.

“This year, the goals are to meet every operational and training event without delay, to meet all station and Marine Aircraft Group support requirements without delay, to continue the ‘Untouchables’ reputation throughout the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadrons and the air station and the safety and morale of the Marines and their families,” DuBois said.
