Rakkasans receive combat badges Sgt. Brian Smith-Dutton

PAKTYA PROVINCE, Afghanistan - Soldiers assigned to 3rd Brigade Combat Team "Rakkasans," 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), received combat awards for their involvement in combat opertions during a ceremony at Forward Operating Base Gardez, Afghanistan, Jan. 21.

Soldiers were awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Combat Action Badge and Combat Medical Badge depending on their military occupational specialty within the military.

Thirty-seven soldiers received awards for serving under hostile enemy fire while deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
