Multi-National Security Transition Command – Iraq
TAJI, Iraq – The transfer of 35 armored reconnaissance vehicles, the EE-9 Cascavel, to the Iraqi army 4th Brigade, 9th Division, took place at a quiet ceremony at the Taji national depot, Jan 8.
The vehicles have been refurbished through the Iraqi security forces fund and continue to improve the capabilities of the Iraqi army to provide security to the people of Iraq. The event was attended by U.S. Army Major Longo, advisor for the Iraqi Army 4th Brigade, 9th Division, and other members of the Military Transition Team.
The contractor, Anham Inc., has the expertise of providing training on the operation and maintenance of these vehicles. More than 90 civilian contracted mechanics, many of whom are former soldiers in the Iraqi army, have worked more than 11 months to completely refurbish these vehicles including, replacement of key driveshaft components, body work, suspension systems, and electrical wiring. They are very proud of their contribution to the Iraqi army.
