The Aflie Khalil General Instruction Building is set to open Nov. 2010. Meyer explained that the building was designed by Hans Nettel, a Corps of Engineer designer who loves sailing, hence the architectural sails on top of the building.

Local High School Helps Army Celebrate 234th Birthday

The Seaside High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps color guard lead the children of the Porter Youth Center on Ord Military Community in the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. The JROTC drill team then performed to help the Army celebrate its 234th birthday.

Sgt. Edward Vaughn, a D Company, 229th Military Intelligence Battalion squad leader, instructs Soldiers in proper first aid procedures during sergeant's time training. Vaughn said that the volunteer training is to help augment the Soldiers tactically as they progress technically through their language courses at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center.
