Spc. Gerardo Martinezbonilla, a Cueramaro, Mexico native, is a light-wheel vehicle mechanic, assigned to the 3666th Maintenance Co., 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 96th Sustainment Brigade, headquartered at Camp Taji, Iraq. He will be sworn in as a United States citizen, Nov. 11. Martinez is the second member of his family to receive a U.S. citizenship.

Capt. Stephen Carter of Topeka, Kan., 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 96th Sustainment Brigade, gives the oath of re-enlistment to Sgt. Hope Nisbet, a native of Muncie, Ind. Nisbet is the first of many Soldiers in the 541st CSSB to re-enlist. Carter is the adjutant for the 541st CSSB while Nisbet is the Awards noncommissioned officer for the company.

Lt. Col. Paul D. Dismer, commander of the 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade, and Command Sgt. Maj. Ian Griffin, command sergeant major of the 541st CSSB, conducted the unit's first in-theater promotion on Oct. 1. Rufino Agustin, a native of Jutlahuaca, Mexico, and non-commissioned officer in charge of the battalion S1 shop, was promoted from staff sergeant to sergeant first class.
