Asserto said, "I am truly honored to have been asked to narrate this ceremony. It gives me great pride that out of a whole battalion, the command chose me for the job."

Antonio Martinez, a Philadelphia native, and the first sergeant for the 590th Quartermaster Company, 398th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade, receives a Bronze Star Medal from Col. Mark E. Drake, a native of Saint Paul, Minn., and the 10th Sustainment Brigade commander, for his hard work and service during 590th's 15-month deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt. Mecca Forrest, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., who works as a personnel administrator for the 590th Quartermaster Company, 398th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade, was given the special honor of being asked to bear the company colors during the 590th QM Co. end of deployment awards ceremony. Forrest also received an Army Commendation Medal for her dedication and hard work during the 15-month deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom.

During this ceremony Hernandez received a Bronze Star Medal for his dedication and hard work during the 15-month deployment during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
