New York National Guard Aviation Soldier, Sgt. Bryan Race, is interviewed by a crew from Long Island Cable TV, Channel 12, during Freedom Salute ceremonies held Sept. 13 at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue. The Freedom Salute ceremony recognizes Soldier contributions in Afghanistan and Iraq. The 3rd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 142nd Aviation Regiment, which Race belongs to, served in Iraq in 2008/2009, returning in May.

Two members of the United States Military Academy "Black Knights" parachute team, leap from a Chinook Ch-47 belonging to the New York Army National Guard, 12,500 feet above Geneseo, N.Y., July 30.
