Marine Corps Colonel Retires After Career Marked by Extensive Command

The adjutant reads the retirement order as Col. Paul H. Maubert retires from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, April 30, at Forward Operating Base Delaram in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The modest ceremony took place on the rooftop of the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment combat operations center. It was presided over by Col. Duffy White, commanding officer of the Marine Corps Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Afghanistan, who is now the senior Marine in Afghanistan.

Marine Corps Colonel Retires After Career Marked by Extensive Command

Col. Paul H. Maubert retired from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, April 30, at Forward Operating Base Delaram in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. In his remarks, Maubert reminisced about and thanked the outstanding Marines who had been most influential in his career, from the World War II Marine who was his rifle coach at summer camp to the staff non-commissioned officers and officers who most influenced his command philosophy.
