The last three UH-1V Huey helicopters in the Louisiana National Guard take off for their final mission as they pass their new replacement, the UH-60 Blackhawk, from Esler Airfield in Pineville, La., June 9. The Huey is being replaced by the much faster Blackhawk, which has been employed by the 812th Medical Detachment, Air Ambulance, located in Pineville, La.

Private 1st Class Lloyd Thomas, an engineer from the 921st Horizontal Engineer Company of the 528th Engineer Battalion in Winnsboro, La., climbs back onto his vehicle after a successful rescue operation. The engineers run search and rescue missions day and night in the Southwest Louisiana area until all areas are searched and clear.
