The 'dream' Still Alive

Spc. Darnell Crater, from Lynwood, Ill., and member of the 4th Infantry Division band, delivers the 'I Have a Dream' speech during the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., commemoration service at the division chapel, Jan. 21. The 'I Have a Dream' speech has been regarded as one of the best speeches in the history of the nation, second only to the 'Gettysburg Address.'

Sgt 1st Class Atir Wise, a Killeen, Texas, native and member of Company B, 4th Infantry Div. Special Troops Battalion, sings the national anthem at the beginning of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., commemoration service at the division chapel, Jan. 21. According to Wise, Dr. King had a 'Dream' we are living today, and it is our responsibility to pass it on to the next generation.

Engineer Troops Re-enlist With Pride

Harlem, N.Y., native Staff Sgt. Shaneque Moore-Ly, right, receives her discharge documents from Capt. Erica Lager after her re-enlistment ceremony in the 642nd Engineer Company motor pool at Camp Liberty in western Baghdad Oct. 11. "My Soldiers motivated me to re-enlist," said Moore-Ly, who signed up indefinitely after 10 years of military service and three deployments to Iraq. "I thank God for the military and for all my experiences. It has been great."

Engineer Troops Re-enlist With Pride

Ridgecrest, Calif., native Spc. David Harrell, takes the oath of enlistment from 2nd Lt. Gerald Shumer, a platoon leader with the 642nd Engineer Company, at Camp Liberty in western Baghdad Oct. 11. Harrell, who has five years of Army service, re-enlisted for six more. "I'm proud of what I'm doing," he said. "With this enlistment I got the chance to be stationed close to home."
