Sgt. Tashah Miller, from the 1st Theater Sustainment Command's Distribution Management Center, smiles while doing pushups on Feb. 6. Her morning exercise regiment consisted of completing a 3.5-mile unit formation run in chilly Fort Bragg, N.C., temperatures, followed by some company-led calisthenics. As part of her DMC duty, Miller helps to plan and coordinate for the time-definite delivery of units, materiel, equipment, personnel, and soldier support to, within, and from deployed locations.

Brig. Gen. James E. Rogers commander of the 1st Theater Sustainment Command, leads his unit in an early morning formation run on Feb. 6 down Logistics Road at Ft. Bragg, N.C., braving 20 degree temperatures and 15 mph winds. Prior to the run, Rogers talked to troops about the importance of physical fitness. The 1st TSC is responsible for the sustainment operations for U.S. forces in Iraq, Afghanistan and the entire U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.

Col. Jerry R. Stidham officially retired from the U.S. Army on Jan. 22 at Fort Bragg, N.C. Stidham is the son of William and Betty Stidham, who live in London, Ohio. He was presented with the Legion of Merit award for 25 years of faithful service to the nation. Stidham, a veteran of the Gulf War, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, his wife Amy and son Matthew plan to reside in Fayetteville, N.C.

Runner Celebrates Air Force Birthday

Airmen at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait celebrated the 61st birthday of the Air Force with a cake cutting and 5K fun run. Here the youngest member in the dining facility, Senior Airman David Wilson, a 22 year old truck driver, and Col. Frank Rechner, age 47 and the director of operations for Central Command's Deployment Distribution and Operations Center, cut the birthday cake. Similar cake cutting events happened at two other dining facilities at the camp.
