Citizens of historied Samarra, Iraq, share casual conversations just mere blocks from the al-Askari "Golden Dome" Mosque with Soldiers from C Company, 2-237 Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), along with the 2-327 Infantry Regiment and 1st Brigade Combat Team leadership. The Samarra mayor and Salahahdin governor in conjuction with Iraqi security forces, recently opened up the Samarra Dam Bridge, connecting nearby communities to the city. "No Slack" 2-327 coalition forces established two checkpoints and a city-wide berm to quell the activities of the enemy.
