During a replenishment at sea aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan Sailors from Supply Department use forklifts to move pallets on the flight deck. During the RAS, the fast combat support ship USNS Rainier provided Ronald Reagan with more than 200 pallets of cargo. Ronald Reagan is underway on a routine deployment in the Indian Ocean.
U.S. Marines and Afghan soldiers and police are continuing clearing operations in key population centers along the Helmand River valley in an effort to secure the local population from the threat of Taliban and other insurgent intimidation and violence.
