Staff Sgt. Anthony Meadows, a squad leader with the 736th Security Forces Squadron, directs a U.S. Army soldier toward the airfield July 22 near Williamson Airfield. The 736th SFS is part of the 36th Contingency Response Group, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. The 36th CRG assumed command and control of the airfield from the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division (Airborne) and turned over command to the Royal Australian Air Force as part of a multiphase combined joint operation. Talisman Saber is a biennial training activity aimed at improving the combat readiness and interoperability of the Australian Defense Force and U.S. forces.
