Afghan engineers inspect roadways

Engineers from the Helmand Provincial Governor’s Technical Team mark a portion of a road in Sangin for inspection June 23, 2013. The inspection was ordered by the provincial governor to check for quality assurance. "The provincial governor has taken a keen interest to ensure the standard of the road is fit for purpose and will provide the people of the Upper Gereshk Valley with a long term solution to their transport needs,” said British Army Maj. Dave Gibson, the Specialist Team of Royal Engineers commanding officer. “It was successful because the (Provincial Governor’s Technical Team) found the construction of the road that they had checked conformed to the specification they had agreed to.”
