Headquarters and Exercise Director for Yama Sakura 64 speaks during an
opening ceremony for the YS64 planning conference held at the Fort Shafter
Flats in Hawaii, 15 June. Yama Sakura is an annual bilateral command post
exercise for Japanese and U.S. forces that uses computer simulations to hone
readiness and interoperability between the U.S. and Japan. The exercise will take place in December, later this year.
