Chief Petty Officer Ferro, a Belgian Malinois and military working dog retires, June 10 2013, after nine years of service as an Explosive Detector at Maritime Safety and Security Team Galveston. Petty Officer 1st Class Shane Coleman, the K-9's handler, has been partnered with Ferro for the duration of Ferro's career. After his retirement Ferro was adopted by Coleman and his wife.
