While standing on the remnants of her former home, May 24, 2013, Mona Thomas reflects on the destruction left in the wake of an EF-5 tornado that ripped through parts of Moore, Okla., May 20. She was huddled in a closet when the storm leveled much of her home, trapping her until first responders could pull her from the rubble. What is left of the closet is the small mound behind her.
