Staff Sgt. David Lee Carte from the Warrior Transition Battalion, Fort Bliss, Texas, lines up a shot during rifle practice in preparation for the 2013 Warrior Games, May 7, 2013. Carte says he was incredibly excited when he heard he had been selected to participate in the games. The Hollister, California native sustained a back injury while on assignment in Iraq in 2006. Since 2010, the Warrior Games have brought together wounded, ill or injured service members to compete in a goodwill competition. This year, the Warrior Games will include wounded warriors from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, Special Operations Command and the United Kingdom.
