Construction Electrician Constructionman Daniel J. Nelson, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5, catches his breath after being submerged in water during a 3.4-mile endurance course at U.S. Marine Corps Jungle Warfare Training Center, Camp Gonslaves, Okinawa. The six-day Jungle Skills Course is designed to refine a unit's patrolling and combat skills in the jungle environment. The course is intended to test individual endurance, build confidence and develop small unit leaders. The course focuses on land navigation, patrolling, survival, jungle shooting, and a 3.4-mile endurance course. NMCB-5 is one of the Naval Expeditionary Combat Command's warfighting support elements providing host nation construction operations and security in support of the global war on terror.
