Ray Russo, Regional Business directorate of the Southwestern Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, left, and Willis Johnson visit Tuesday with Col. Charles H. Klinge, commander, Fort Worth District. Johnson is former decades-long morning radio host for KKDA-AM in Dallas and is a director of The Trinity Trust. The Trinity Trust helps ensure that city of Dallas river projects are designed and developed with an appreciation for, and understanding of, and a desire to protect the areas of natural beauty within the Trinity corridor. The Fort Worth District has two federal projects along the Trinity River in Dallas: the Dallas Floodway Project, in the design stage, which covers 22 miles of the East and West Levees upstream of the abandoned AT&SF Bridge, and the Dallas Floodway Extension Project, in the construction stage, which covers about 22 river miles downstream of the bridge.
