An AH-64 Apache Attack helicopter takes off and heads to an aviation gunnery range here, March 19. The North Carolina National Guard's 130th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion soldiers held annual training at the training area in order gain aerial gunnery qualification and exercise proper maintenance on aircraft. The aviators flew missions as unit ground crews maintained, repaired and refueled 12 AH-64 Apache helicopters. In addition, Brig. Gen. James Ernst visited the soldiers to gain more understanding of what Army aviation units do. "It is great to see training," said Army Brig. Gen. Ernst, NCNG assistant adjutant general maneuver during his tour with other NCNG leaders of the site. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. 1st Class Robert Jordan, North Carolina National Guard Public Affairs)
