Soldiers team up with local school to promote reading, education

First Lt. Jeff Walker, a native of Hays, N.C., and the intelligence officer in charge for the 2-3 Brigade Special Troops Battalion “Titans”, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, reads, “One fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish”, by Dr. Seuss, at the Richmond Hill Elementary School, March 1. Soldiers of the 2-3 BSTB spent all day at the school reading Dr. Seuss books to the children in support of the community and the National Read Across America Day. The day is a celebration in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 2. “It’s a fun event, a good event, something we need to continue to do,” said Walker. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Richard Wrigley, 2nd BCT, 3rd Inf. Division, Public Affairs)
