Six of the original Montford Point Marines pose for a picture with event coordinators and family at the Marine Corps Exchange aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune Feb. 13. The installation's MCX turned a room into a Montford Point Marines display, where patrons can view photos of training aboard Montford Point, now known as Camp Johnson, and watch a documentary about the challenges the first African American Marines faced. Kaneko Davis, one of the display's coordinators, said they wanted to honor the Marines during Black History Month, since Montford Point is such a significant part of Marine Corps history.
