CLB-13 launches LCACs aboard USS Boxer

A Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion vehicle approaches the USS Boxer (LHD-4) during Exercise Iron Fist 2013, Feb. 9. Combat cargo Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 13 and Sailors aboard the USS Boxer (LHD-4) worked together to load and transport heavy cargo to Marines with 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 13th Marine Expeditionary and members of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force assets conducting training at San Clemente Island. During Exercise Iron Fist 2013, the 13th MEU and JGSDF will spend three weeks participating in bilateral training which improved their interoperability, enhance military-to-military relations, and sharpened skills essential to crisis response.
