Cadets compete in Ranger Challenge

Cadets with the California Polytechnic State University’s Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program attempt to cross a stream at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Jan. 26, 2013. The two-day event started with a stress shooting competition on Jan. 25 and transitioned into a ruck march through a total of 10 stations containing military tasks and scenarios the following day, which was designed to test their physical fitness and mental agility. Teams from three colleges with the 8th Brigade Army ROTC competed for a chance to compete in an international competition at West Point. (U.S. Army Photo by Sgt. Adam C. Keith/Released)
