Refugee, now US soldier returns home

First Lt. Yllka Cana, a native of Kosovo, is spending her first deployment with the 218th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade as part of Kosovo Force. She was given an opportunity to give back to the community where she attended elementary school in the late 1990s. "I thought about all the people that I have not seen for 14 years, people that raised me, people that taught me and people that walked me to school," said Cana. "Good friends that I was separated from. Honestly, I was not ready to come back." (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Angela Parady, 121st Public Affairs Detachment.)
