14th Engineer Battalion receives engineering award

Coast Guard Capt. John Hickey, president of the Seattle post of the Society of American Military Engineers, hands a $1, 000 check to retired Command Sgt. Maj. Dennis Bowers, chairperson of the 555th Able Soldiers and Family Fund. The 14th Engineer Battalion received the SAME Seattle Merit Award for outstanding performance during their recent deployment to Afghanistan.
