The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers begins residential debris removal of houses fully destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in the Midland Beach section of Staten Island, New York. Hoses are used to keep the dust to a minimum, while the air is monitored for signs of asbestos and other contaminants. FEMA is providing Public Assistance funds to aid partners in the cleanup.
