Afghan artillerymen certified and ready to lead

U.S. Army Master Sgt. Liviu Ivan (right), the 122mm D-30 Howitzer subject matter expert assigned to 3rd Battalion 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team "Rakkasans," 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), helps soldiers with the Afghan National Army's (ANA) 203rd Corps, 1st Infantry Brigade, 4th Kandak, D-30 Heavy Coy, check the gun systems before firing at Camp Parsa, Khowst province, Afghanistan, Jan. 9, 2013. The live-fire exercise was conducted in order for the 4th Kandak’s artillerymen to become certified, as well as to demonstrate their potential as a qualified gun line to their leadership.
