Col. Mark J. Menotti , left, presents Philippine Air Force Brig. Gen. Andre P. Tanyag a 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade plaque Dec. 17 at Villamor Air Base near Manila, Republic of the Philippines. Menotti presented Tanyag the plaque in appreciation for being a gracious host to U.S. service members during bilateral disaster relief operations in the wake of Typhoon Bopha. Tanyag is the assistant deputy chief of staff, J-3, operations, General Headquarters, Armed Forces of the Philippines. Menotti is the assistant chief of staff, G-4, supply and logistics, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, III Marine Expeditionary Force, and served as the officer in charge of the III MEF Forward Command Element, which provided coordination and command and control for U.S. Marine Corps support to Philippine-led relief efforts (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
