Because of Spc. Ross McGinnis’ heroism and selflessness, which saved four men from certain serious injury or death, Tom and Romayne McGinnis, along with Lt. Col. William Jacobs and Command Sgt. Maj. Victor Fleek, command team for 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, unveil a memorial mannequin of McGinnis during a dedication ceremony at the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team Headquarters, Dec. 7. While deployed to Adamiyah, Iraq, McGinnis saved the lives of four fellow Soldiers by taking most of the impact from a grenade that had entered their vehicle. Along with the unveiling, the ceremony honored McGinnis with the Medal of Honor and rededicated the company operations facilities in his tribute.
