Ventura County sailors remember Pearl Harbor with veterans in hospice

The Navy Operational Support Center Ventura County Color Guard presents colors for the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem during a Pearl Harbor memorial at the Shoreline Care Center as a part of the Spirit of ’45 celebration. Full-time support and Navy Reserve sailors visited the facility to spend time with veterans and pay tribute to those lost in the attack on Pearl Harbor that launched the United States into World War II. WWII memorabilia from Touching History, a touring military museum, and the POW/MIA table, set up by NOSC VC, provided a static display for military and residents to view and enjoy. The Spirit of ’45 event was organized by VITAS Innovative Hospice Care and Shoreline to remember Dec. 7 and to pay tribute to all veterans in hospice care.
