French Marines train in Hawaii during Exercise Amercal 2012

The training was part of a bilateral, two-week exercise in which a platoon of U.S. Marine infantrymen assigned to the Hawaii-based 3rd Marine Regiment exchanged with French Armed Forces from New Caledonia. The exercise was held to improve military to military relations, enhance interoperability, improve warfighting skills and expose participating militaries to different tactics, techniques, procedures, weapons and training environments.
