An injured Airman is rushed through "Hero's Highway" en route to the emergency room at the Air Force Theater Hospital here, Jan. 15, 2008. "Hero's Highway" is a canopy that serves as a transition area between the helipad and the AFTH emergency room. The interior roof of the canopy is covered by a huge American flag that signals to wounded troops that they are safe. The flag was donated by the cadets of the Marion Military Institute.
